About Integral Electrics
At Integral Electrics, we believe that e-bikes have the power to improve the well-being of people and the planet. We found that most cargo e-bikes don’t fully consider what women, non-cyclists, and shorter folks need in order to feel stable and comfortable. So we focus on making stable, versatile, low-center-of-gravity e-bikes that enable everyone to enjoy e-biking with their precious cargo.
We also want to make e-bike ownership easier, so we work to expand access to things like financing, security, insurance and maintenance. For cars, we know how to find all these things when we need them, and e-bikes won’t be truly accessible to all until they have this infrastructure too!
About the Role
This role is part-time if you want to limit your involvement to bike technician and warehouse manager. It can be full-time if you have experience with and are willing to take on the customer service aspect as well.
Your role will be to manage fulfillment operations, handle returns and help support our team with customer service efforts. You’ll be part of a small team that everyone wears multiple hats and pitches in where they can to help support the company's mission and goals. Your role will have training and support but is a new and evolving role so there is room for you to carve it out in a way that benefits both your personal & professional goals and well as the company as a whole.
Bike Technician and Warehouse Manager Responsibilities (part time option):
Customer Success - Own customer response when it comes to pre-purchase questions about features or fit and post-purchase questions about usage, care, etc. Manage the sales pipeline, reaching out proactively to prospective customers to make sure their questions are answered and they feel supported in their research/purchase process. Document and escalate issues as you observe areas for improvement in either the product or the fulfillment process. (Ie. you notice that multiple bikes are needing brake bleeds, and you raise this to the company so we can find out if this is a shipping issue, a quality control issue at the factory, or a component defect.)
Onsite Operations - Create and track relationships with bike shops, mobile repair, tour operators to create brand awareness and physical presence in key geographic areas. Receive shipping containers, shipping bikes through carriers whether that is fully assembled shipping via our carrier network, working with transportation partners, uship, etc. This includes scheduling LTL pickups and managing documentation. Coordinating returns by looking to repair, rehome the bikes from the open box volunteer list. When applicable you will be receiving returns to the warehouse, documenting the return, handling refunds, fixing and tuning open box bikes, photographing and documenting open box status for potential customers and managing shipment to new owners.
Administrative Tasks - Coordinating warranty repairs and technical customer service issues. Keeping documentation for these items to ensure they can be referenced for future product development and customer service efforts.
Customer Service and Technical Support Responsibilities (full-time option):
Customer Experience Excellence - You go out of your way to make sure each current or prospective customer has a good experience. Demonstrate empathy and uphold high standards for customer experience by prioritizing customer comfort and education, fostering a welcoming environment for all, regardless of background knowledge.
Integral Brand Ambassadorship - Represent the Integral Brand with professionalism, responsibility, and knowledge when engaging with customers, bike shops and mobile service technicians.
Goal-setting and Tech Proficiency - Ability to set goals and establish routines to achieve targets. Able to manage pressure and communicate needs in an unpredictable and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in basic writing and technology essential for effective communication and interaction tracking.
Technician Skill Development - Opportunity for professional development available for both professional and amateur bike technicians. Strong interest in skill development required; background in bike maintenance preferred.
We will look for candidates who can demonstrate
Ability to stay focused on top priorities - In startups, it’s easy to get distracted by projects that seem important at first glance, or to take on more things than can be done well. We’re looking for someone who can stick to their key weekly objectives that we’ve mapped to long term goals.
Teamwork and empathy - You are curious about how other people see the world and like to put yourself in their shoes. This doesn’t necessarily mean putting other people’s needs before your own, rather an awareness that understanding the needs of others helps everyone get better outcomes. We apply this lens to working with customers and also within our team.
Integrity - you care about the quality of your work and the products that you put your name to. You are proactive about making sure that we give customers the absolute best product and experience, and you communicate in advance if something is not to your standards
Communication - you have a low ego, give and receive feedback well, and prefer open, direct communication. We don’t expect perfection but a willingness to be open and communicate in advance of any missed deadlines or other issues is necessary.
